Short of just adding nitrous, the easiest way to streetable, reliable horsepower is a supercharger kit. There are lots of good choices from A&A, ECS, Edelbrock and Magnuson. I'd add a set of long tube headers as well if your emissions regulations will allw them. If you do the labor yourself, budget for 8-9 grand.
Will be a night and day difference when you get on the loud pedal.

Goals/wants/needs?

Intake/headers/tune can give a solid 40-50rwhp bump that maybe more than enough for you. Past that, you start to dive into a heads/cam/etc setup, that can kill gas mileage/drivability/etc.

ECS/A&A kit are awesome, bolt right on, and can give an easy 150+rwhp and still drive like stock.
