My youngest son just found out from his recruiter "FWD: You're booked airborne linguist EAD (entry to active duty) 20170711
Congrats!!!"

Absolutely thrilled that he is starting his life better than I did.

Congrats. My military (Air Force) experience as a jet engine mechanic eventually let to a wonderful career in the FAA that I retired from 2 years ago.

Congrats! He'll love Monterey, great place for training. Let me know if he has any questions about being a linguist. I'm a 1N3, not airborne, but should be able to answer DLI and Goodfellow related questions.

I started my Air Force career as a ground linguist 1N3 and ended as an airborne signals analyst X1N2. As a civilian now, I actually build and test the aircraft and mission systems he will be flying on. If he has any questions about any of it I can help him out.

As bokyo said, he'll love Monterey. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd take a transfer back to Monterey, even if it was just to scrub toilets, in a heartbeat.
