Default convertible/trunk issue

I have a golf towel stuck in the latch of the trunk and it won't open. I'm looking for the hydraulic pump to release so that I can manual open the convertible top hatch to have some one crawl into the back.
The divider is not attached, therefore the sensor won't register for the top to open. It says it is located on the passenger side under the carpet. Have taken all the carpet out, both on the floor and behind the seat and did not find anything that looked remotely like the pic. Please help.

Are you talking about the tonneau emergency release? There's a loop of cable behind the passenger seat. It's right near the top under the tonneau.

Don't forget to open the pressure release with an allen wrench if you are moving the top itself.

The owner's manual procedure is pretty accurate. I've tested the manual operation just to make sure I can put the top up in the rain if the power actuator wasn't working.

It's located behind the passenger seat on the left side of it( facing front of car) watch the video

Where exactly is the pressure release ... it says under the carpet on the passenger... looked both on the floor and pulled the carpet and didn't see anything that resembled the picture.

Another option...remove the inner tail lights.
I believe you can access the lock mechanism by reaching through the TL openings.

Good luck.

Have you tried your key in the lock for the trunk? it is a mechanical release of the trunk lid in its u-shaped holder so it might work

That's where it is. Under the tonneau. It's mounted high on the side. It has a bunch of tubing attached to it.

Watch the video, fast forward to the 17 minute mark. Shows them raising a power top manually.

I've re-posted these many times. Pretty clear where everything is and what to do to release the hydraulic pressure.

Something similar happened to me with a jacket stuck in the lock. I got a screwdriver and a towel and while my wife worked the FOB to release the trunk, I used the screwdriver and towel so to not scratch the lid, under the lip of the trunk lid and gently pried the lid open.
