alignment
getting new tires and getting a bunch of different numbers for cost of alignment. what is the typical cost for a four wheel alignment for a c6 z51?

I just paid 100$ even for 4 wheel alignment, putting in new tpms, calibrating the tpms, and putting my new wheels on. But then again, I have family that work at a tire shop.
You're probably looking at 80 for the alignment alone.

I also did lifetime at Firestone using Pfadt's settings.Think it was $169..anyway I get the alignment checked EVERY 5,000 miles. Tires have 18,500 miles on them and still look new.

Stay away from the dealership for tires. They wanted over $1200 to mount, balance, and install TPMS on four wheels/tires. I almost had an aneurism.
Local tire shop did it for about $800 less.

$100-$150 sounds about right.
If getting an alignment, and not tracking?
Consider Pfadt's 'Performance Street" spec done.
Just printout top chart @ link & give it to shop. http://www.pfadtracing.com/blog/wp-c...-alignment.pdf
Won't cost a cent more vs stock.
C6 came w/ an aggressive alignment from factory, too much camber?
While suitable for track use, normal driving wore insides much too fast.
Can attest PPS specs prolonged wear on my Z06 at least 2 fold.
Wished I'd known of Pfadt much sooner for my C5, '06 C6 and first 3 sets of very expensive skins on Z.

I had my local shop do mine for about $80.
The PFADT street specs are within factory specs so there's no reason in the world why they can't do it. You are just optimizing within the factory tolerance, which is a pretty wide range.

Melting Slicks
I had a local Corvette specialist do mine at his shop. He even put 200 pounds of weight in the driver's seat to replicate my being in the car. Spent almost 2 hours doing the alignment. The tire wear and everything else is great 10,000 miles later and I have no issue with the cost.
The original rear tires were completely worn down on the outside edge before new tires and the alignment.
