Some Light Painting Photography
Been getting into light painting and got some shots of my newest vette. 2012 Grand Sport I picked up a few weeks back. Sold my 08 c6 last summer and been regretting that since I sold it. Anyways here is my GS and some other friends vehicles I have shot recently.

Awesome...some of the best car shots I've seen. Whatever you're doing, it's nice! Really like the first Vette pic.

Light painting is just as it sounds. So these photos are taken in complete darkness. They are taken with a long exposure, typically 20-30 seconds long and using a light wand to "paint" the car. The only thing that is shown in the photo is what reflects light back to the camera. So most of these photos range from 5-10 different photos edited into one photo. On black vehicle its always 8+ photos since black reflects light and you get a lot of light streak with that. So I will light up a fender in one photo, next photo I will light up just the door and so on. I will find a base photo which has not light painting done to give you an idea. Its a really cool process and its now my favorite style of photography and all I want to do.

So here is how the black c6 photo started. You start with a natural light exposure. This give you an idea of how dark it was when the photos were taken
Then I will do multiple long exposures but only focusing on lighting up little bits of the car at a time, like this
So I will do 8-12 long exposures like this and then use Photoshop and edit them all into 1 photo. So I may just use a wheel from one exposure and then the bumper on the next. It takes a lot of time but I love how they come out after editing.

Yea I graduated 2007. I actually have Rolfing as a customer of mine for a few years back when I was at Cable Dahmer before quitting there. What is your name?

Anytime I am doing a photoshoot for someone I always like to explain and show them the process I do for the photos. I enjoy teaching people as much as I enjoy learning myself. To me that is how you grow and better yourself.

Yea my brother, Brandon Carey I believe graduated in 01 or 00. He would have been turning 35 this year but I know he was young for his grade. He passed away back in 2014 unfortunately tho.

Thanks man, its tough but thats what life is sometimes. Anyways, do you have a corvette currently? I live in Blue Springs and go take photos all the time. If you ever want some photos taken let me know. Last night I was bored with nothing to do so I went and took updated photos of my Grand Sport.
