Most likely obtained from a drug bust and converted by the Police department. Often happens to Cigarette Boats as well....even planes from what I hear.

We had a Vette cop car in this area for a while also. Surprised a lot of people. I agree on the drug bust idea on how they obtained it. I got pulled over in Oklahoma once and overheard cops talking to each other if they had enough on me because his wife would sure like to have a car like mine. Fortunately I was just checked out for proper licence and insurance and let go after they searched my car and found nothing. Still have no idea why I was pulled over other than having Texas plates on my car.

The only thing you have to do at a traffic stop is present DL and insurance. Don't have to say a word or answer questions. Certainly not consent to a search.

In the small town I was traveling through I was given no choice and was not asked if he could search my car. I asked why I was pulled over and the officer said anyone that can afford to drive a car like mine is likely to be a drug dealer and I looked suspicious. I was going to visit a friend in the area and after speaking to him he said this is a common type of experience as he just got thrown in jail for public intoxication while walking back from fishing to his home. He told me he only had three beers. He got $400.00 in fines and a two year probation.
