2008 base model pricing guidance...
I'm researching pricing on a 2008 Vette to make sure I don't pay too much for one I have found... I saw the car in person today, and drove it. This is my first purchase, and I don't have to win with a low-ball victory over the seller, but at the same time I don't want to overpay just because I have found something that basically meets my overall criteria.
Specs: 2008, 2LT, Manual Trans, 37,000 mils, Victory Red, stock factory everything (no mods at all). Chrome polished (factory option) wheels. Location is Alabama. Tires have 12,000 miles Goodyear Eagle Run Flat Tires. Willing seller, willing buyer.
I'm no expert all, but I'm calling the condition "pretty good", but that's a very subjective call. Could be better, but overall, it's really nice (a few paint chips, but not bad, 2 small rock ships in window, really nice interior.)
------------------------
On KBB, I ran it through their pricing model, and it shows (for "selling to and individual") a price of:
$22,700 for Good Condition
$23,700 for Very Good Condition
$25,000 for Excellent Condition
------------------------
On CarGurus, for this mileage, there pricing analysis shows $27,700 for the same exact specs. With this analysis, they claim to search all current or recent offers for this year across all various mileage ranges, and the average price for this mileage is $27,700 (I assume this represent the current list price of the cars, not what they actually sold for)
------------------------
When I did the "Sell my car" page on Car Gurus, giving the same exact criteria, it shows that if I were listed the car for sale:
$24,000 it would be a "good deal" for the buyer
$25,700 through $28,000 it would be a "fair deal" for the buyer
So... I can easily see $23,700 as a low number (in my favor), and maybe up to $27,000 as a high number (in the seller's favor) and somewhere in the middle, around $25,000 perhaps, must be the overall fair price for both parties.

the '08 will get you the LS3 engine, which some prefer, others not so much difference to worry about compared to the LS2.........
you mention tires, not only for wear, but also brand.............. a lot of topics here related to the Goodyears, so allow yourself some bargaining room to replace them, which would be 1,000 - 1,200 or so depending upon brand............. then the windshield chips............... would you be happy and satisfied with them there? May also want to allow a deduction for repair or replacement to get the glass perfect, as it should be..........
in MY opinion, you should be looking at 24,000 maximum to allow for tires, glass, and still be "fair" to seller................ although it is summer season, and Corvette pricing is typically higher, you owe it to yourself to make sure you get exactly what you want.......... from your description, this vehicle would be "good condition" at best initially
hope this helps you out....................

Just a reference for bargaining or an option to fly in and take a road trip home.

Pricing depends on where you live as well. CarGurus and TrueCar do a good job in estimating fair values. BB will always be lower than the actual value of the car.
If you stay at or below what CarGuru and Truecar said was a fair value then you should not feel that you got cheated.

I also congratulate you on not only asking the question(s), but doing your homework and showing us that you're not a slacker.
