Default Windshield wipers

Ok so I just changed out my windshield wipers that were stock with new stock ones and I am curious why the drivers side has this little fin on it and the passenger side doesn't . What is the purpose of this?

Chevrolet says it keeps the wiper from lifting off the glass at speeds in excess of 150 mph.

so why wouldn't they put it on both wipers if they were worried about them flying off.

I suspect it comes to play while not in use, but in the stationary position. When down, the drivers side is perpendicular to the hood and the passenger side sits at an angle to the hood.

they are only concerned with driver vision in the rain at higher speeds.not as critical for the passenger at speed because they are not doing the steering in most cases

they are not worried about them "flying off"...geez, they are there to enable the wiper to do the job at higher speeds. Without the fin, it might skip and dance across the surface, rather than wiping. as for why not both sides, I have no idea...
