Not sure what I did wrong
I swapped out my valve covers and changed the cover over the intake. In doing so I removed the fuel rail and injectors. I reinstalled everything in the original locations. On start up I experienced a lot of popping and missing. I checked all my plug wires and injector connections but found nothing out of order. Any ideas?

Any codes? Spark plug wires not fully seated, make sure that all your electrical connections are fully seated and retainers are locked in place. Other than those simple checks a terminal broke or bent. A code might point you in the problem area, such as a misfire on a particular cylinder(s).

No codes just lots of backfires and rough idle....only let it run a few seconds.....is there a pre start procedure I should have followed to bleed the air our of the fuel rail?......I am at work now but will pull the fuel rail and injectors again to make sure everything is seated and connected properly

If you only let it run a few seconds the fuel rails may not have been fully purged of air yet. Let it run for about a minute and see if it smooths out and by then you may have some codes set if there is a problem other than air getting out of the rails.

At the end of the fuel rail is a schrader valve. Try holding the start button for more than 5 sec without your foot on the brake. this will turn on acc mode and might turn on the fuel pump. Then bleed with the schrader valve.

I have had my fuel rails and injectors off more than a few times and never had to purge the air out ...
I would start retracing the electrical connections to make sure you have them hooked up correctly
It has to be throwing codes right ..., can you read them and post ..?

When I did my headers , I thought I had my plug wires all seated but upon first startup I found out different
Use some dielectric grease in both ends , push them on hard then see if u can pull off , if you can they are not on
