Default Can visor buttons be programmed from remote on NPP

I have the remote for my NPP exhaust and on the way home today it popped up in my mind about programming the remote switch for NPP into the visor buttons

Can/has this been done.

I do not use the visor buttons for simple fact I have an older garage door and believe it or not we do not have a remote for it. Had wife's trailblazer programmed but since we bought that car in 2001 and kept it until last year it appears I have lost the remotes for our garage door and if I remember correctly I needed the remote to program the visor buttons

ALso I have remote for my home security system, could this be programed as well

Try this thread.http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...pp-remote.html Link didn't work. Maybe this time it will. If not do a search for npp visor remote and it will bring up all the info you need

people have posted that have done it. You can as mentioned buy a remote and program your garage door to it, then use that and program your car with it too.

I have tried several and still no go, it is an Overhead Door system . Probably 1991 or so.

Being its a 1991 model garage door opener it is most likely a fixed code opener, not a rolling code type, e.g. "Intellicode". This can be verified by looking at your garage door opener (or one of the original remotes) and see if it has a 10 or 12 position dip switch used to set the code.

There are numerous universal remotes available that support fixed codes:
Amazon Amazon

FWIW, had both my Grandsports configured to open an older Genie fixed code opener using the visor buttons. I would have to confirm looking at the owner's manual but I don't remember it requiring the old remote to program the visor button.

I have a 08 Vette and my wife has a 10 Mountaineer. I programed both to control my garage door. No remote was necessary. My opener was installed in 2004. My opener has a button that you push then you get in the car and hold the cars button down that you want to operate the door.
