When I had my 70 El Camino buckets done, which involved a little more than just covers and foams, like proper conversion brackets welded in and fixed up a little wiring, he charged me $900 which I thought was a little steep. But to be truthful what the hell isn't expensive nowadays, every one thinks they are brain surgeons
My original leather looks fine but I would like some more cushion under my butt is all.

I would have turned that down also. I do not think it is that big a job and there are many articles on here and videos on this for someone so inclined. You may have a friend who has done this on other cars who could help. Good luck

I reached out to leatherseats.com and received the following response:

Thank you for your interest in this 2012 Coversion kit. Unfortunately, due to the high demand and popularity of our specialty kits built in our LS Prime department, our current production capacity has been exceeded and we have had to temporarily suspend all new orders. It was a tough decision, but instead of increasing the cost of these kits to lower demand, we are working on overhauling and upgrading our production in order to meet demand.

We have invested quite a bit in additional equipment and personnel, but we do not yet have a timeframe we can give people on when our additional production capacity will become available. In the meantime, I can put your name on our waiting list which we will be calling back in order of interest expressed as soon as these kits become available for purchase again. If you choose to order at that time your order will receive priority over others lower on the list. Thanks so much for your time, have a great day!
