Then I came back with

It probably would have been more appropriate to say, "I am impressed with your fat ***."

Out cruising I come-up behind an old Ford p/u, on back bumper's a sticker: 'Why not do something nice today, mind your own business?'

LMAO for miles nodding my head in complete agreement.

This is saddening that we've reached a point in our society where we seem to go out of our way to pi$$ on each other about everything we can find.

I grew up learning that if you don't have something kind to say, just shut up. Unfortunate to think some people derive some kind of sick pleasure in verbally trashing others.

Yup....but not sure what time frame you grew up in and/or how old you are....but maybe they didn't have this Face-Book and social media trash that they have now.....its awfully easy to trash people on these sites, esp. when you don't have to be face-to-face with anyone. But what happens then is that people start doing it in public........

She probably was impressed or she would not have said anything. She was just envious.

Drove my C6s for 12.5 years. Got compliments from all ages, both male and female, probably about 20 - 25 of them.

Same here. Compliments, stares and some even taking pictures. Never anything negative.

No kidding, its pretty bad on here sometimes. One would think that since were share the corvette hobby that there would be a little more respect for each other.

Dad told me that also.
Its the moral decay of our society Steve, In my 75 years on this rock I have never seen such confrontational, combative, I don't give a f**k attitudes as I see today. Its what I call the LAM syndrome (Look At Me) and its very prevalent

I never get compliments on the Vette. I get hundreds on my 69 Camaro.

Once had a total stranger come up to me when I was drinking a beer and watching hot air balloons fly. She said "I hope you know drinking alcohol is bad for your health",

I said "really, that sounds funny coming from someone who put the "beast" in obese"

Never did get a comeback from her.

I am always surprises when people at a car show ask if it's ok to take a pic of my hood pad. Always tell em yes but just wonder why they ask. I consider it a compliment when they ask but they sure dont need to.

I've had lots of compliments in the 6 months we've had our 2007 Indy Pace car. I love the looks on peoples faces when I say "thanks, it's my wife's car and she lets me drive it once in a while" (true, she was given the car and the transfer papers were signed by her brother in-law 2 days before he passed away).

Also had a funny incident recently when fueling up. A fellow about my age pulled into the pump beside me in a Rat Rod and asked "Mid-Life crisis too?"

The nicest event since we got the car was when we were out for a fun drive and drove through a busy sea side community. After we left we stopped for lunch at a nearby restaurant when the waitress asked "were you just in Birch Bay with that car?" We told her yes and she informed us that they were just out biking as a family and when her kids saw the car they got excited and yelled "Look there's Lightning McQueen!" We asked her if she would like a picture of her sitting in the drivers seat to show her kids and she said "yes please!" so took her out to the parking lot and did it with her iPhone. It made a few peoples day.

I've never had anything approaching an experience like the OP had, but one day I did have two little old ladies ... must have been in their 80s ... looking my car over when I came out, and one of them said, "We just love your little car". Never thought of it being little before. They were probably thinking about stealing it. Made me think of the Little Old Lady From Pasadena.

Dunno - just last Friday I was parked in a plaza sitting in my car and a lady gets her four year old kid to pose in with my car for pictures both from the front and the back and then she proceeds to take a picture of my car from the front, all while I am sitting in my car My car is over ten years old now...
