Default New Radiator for C6 w/Z51?

I found the culprit to my coolant loss in the form of a 1" crack on the driver side of my oem radiator on my 120k mile 2005 C6.

After a bit of research I'm hoping someone can give me confirmation this is the replacement I need for my Z51 C6 as it has the built in oil cooler?

Amazon Amazon

Thanks!

I replaced my radiator on my 2005 Z51 last week and it has both the oil and trans cooler going through the radiator ,not just the oil. My car is a 6 speed and it may be different then the auto..See if you have tubes on both sides of the radiator or just one side.. Go to Rockauto.com , prices are much better then what your showing on Amazon.. Below is my thread from 2 days ago, it will explain a few things about the install process...WW

My 09 Z51 radiator was GM part number 10353890.

A few months ago, I replaced the stocker with a DeWitts after the stocker cracked just like you describe.

You might consider contacting board vendors Cultrag or RichieRichZ06 for an OEM replacement. That one on Amazon looks around $200 too much.

The best thing is to go to an online dealer parts catalog (am I allowed to name gmpartsdirect.com here?) and find the GM #, then go to Amazon, Rock Auto, Summit Racing or wherever and search by the GM #.

Also, if you're Amazon Prime member, and there's one in an Amazon warehouse, the free shipping often makes it a better deal than RockAuto.com where you pay for shipping, and where radiators often get penalized for "dimensional weight" by the shipping carriers.

ADDITIONAL Info: The one you linked to on Amazon, AC-Delco 21539 cross references to GM Part # 10353889. It has both engine oil cooler and transmission oil coolers. Someone said the manual trans has connections for an oil cooler, I haven't checked ours. That seems a little odd. But that's the only one which includes the engine oil cooler and is for all applications with the oil cooler. The Amazon price does seem a bit high, but includes shipping. My local dealer would sell me the GM part # 10353889 for $385 (grudgingly) if I brought them the listing from gmpartsdirect.

Amazing responses! Thanks everyone!

I will dig around these links after work today and see if I can find something cheaper as I thought Amazon's price was the lowest I've found for the extra cooler with the Z51? I was mostly seeing radiators in the $450-550 from quick searches last night. Mine is also a 6 speed 05 C6 Z51. Definitely doing the install myself so WW7 write up is much appreciated! Hopefully can get it ordered and shipped in this week to swap it this weekend.

At RockAuto, it came up $374.10 for me, after a $19.69 discount, but then shipping was another $17.99 for ground shipping.

If you don't get the discount, you can use mine (anyone can use mine). Put 6649897548874231 in where it asks "How Did You Hear About Us?" That discount code is good until September 24, 2017.

Rockauto always has a 5% discount code somewhere. 5% is 5%!

I almost always have a discount code there. I guess I order enough parts from them (average about $300-$400/month).

On the rare occasions I don't have a code, I know two things. First, a friend will have one, or failing that I can find one somewhere on the internet, and second, there's a big job coming that I'll need a code for. About 2 weeks ago, it was a Chevy S10 pickup restoration and upgrade that came to me. I had a $600 order with RockAuto for suspension, steering and brakes. Still working on that project now. There's also a 350 V8 going in it, so there's a big order for Jegs, Summit or someplace (headers, mounts, other necessities for the V8 into S10 conversion). I haven't quite gotten there yet. Finishing the steering/suspension/brakes restoration first.

If you ever need a code, feel free to ask me. I usually "publish" my current Rock Auto discount in a "profile message" on the various Internet forums I hang out at. I'll try to figure out where to put it here on CorvetteForum.

But also, @C6ToGo is correct, there's always a 5% discount code available. If you can't find a friend with one, RetailMeNot or other sites like that will have something.

That's what I paid last March (2017) from GM Parts Direct. No dealer here would match that price. As I recall, they wanted a couple hundred dollars more with the same shipping time.

Thank you all! I ended up purchasing from Rockauto and installed over the last weekend, all went smoothly for the most part.

I did run into a problem at the end when reinstalling coolant hoses of a plastic T connection disintegrating on all three sides. Same problem as this post https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...e-failure.html, I'm not opposed to paying the $70 at the dealership to get refreshed lines and a new T but the lines don't look bad. I'm kicking around the idea of throwing a brass fitting (not sure about brass's corrosion?) or looking for a high temp plastic T replacement alone.

If I were replacing the radiator on my own 12 year old Chevrolet (Corvette or otherwise), I'd change all the hoses and any plastic/nylon "fittings" in the system. It's (a little past) time for that as "Scheduled maintenance." If not by mileage, it's still time by the calendar. I'd also put a new serpentine belt and tensioner in at the same time. I'd make that same recommendation for a friend or customer.

I'm not a fan of brass or copper pipes, fittings or components with DexCool (or G05 or any "long life" OAT coolants). Some folks say they are fine. Others say they are potential problems. Not worth the risk in my book. If not nylon/plastic, go Stainless Steel and be done with it.

Heres one of the SS tees I bought about 6 months ago on this site..The guy had to buy a minimum number, so he sold the others on here... I was lucky enough to get one and paid $18.00....WW
