Starter button
It just happens ever so often. Actually its done it twice since I've had the car (about six months). I go to push the starter button and nothing happens and seems to go to acc mode. I hit the button several times more times and does the same thing. Then maybe the third time she cranks right up. I never have been stranded before with this problem but sure would like to know the possible cause just in case it does it again. I don't get the "NO FOB" in the DIC and everything else seems normal.
This is on a 05 Z51 6-speed. Again I haven't had the car long but boy do I love it.
It was glitchy and only occurred once but it's in the back of my mind.
Electrical and batteries are batshit things with C6.
clutch not all the way down in a manual, or foot on the brake and pushing the auto shifter all the way forward (if the park button lever has to be tweaked to solve that)
Then why not just pull the start button and clean it if you think that its the problem.
The front rocker pulls right out of the housing with some pick tools and this allows you to clean the internals of the starter button.
Let me dig a bit, and see if I still have any photos of pulling the starter button apart to clean the internals.

Its not software glitches, but less than stellar electrical contacts in the wiring that cause all the problems to the modules to glitch instead (drop in the voltage to them).
Since the starter button is so cheap I may just replace it just in case as it does show a bit of wear. Also thinking and by reading most of the past posts here this seems to be kind of normal problem/clitch with no rhyme or reason to why it does it.
Also I'll be sure to keep my fob away from my cell too.
BTW, my apologies, I never intended to say it was definitely the button itself or it was the cause, I was just wondering what could be the cause because again, I've seen other people's complaints about this. But, yet no real fix or what the cause is. Yes, it's not a auto. This is a 6-SPEED car. I'll report back with anything hopefully I might find to help others that see this happen.
I really love this car and just didn't want to get stranded.
BTW how many others of you that own 05's 6-SPEEDS that get the steering wheel locked? That's another thing I have read although mine has never done that before. If it does this, is there a work around if it happens?
Again thanks for every ones help.
