My waterfall has started hitting the glass when I put the top up or down. I'm afraid it's going to break the glass. Anyone ever adjust their top for this issue? Easy fix or am I better off taking it to the dealership?

There's several youtube videos on how to tighten up a small cable that keeps the glass out of the way. Mine doesn't have the problem yet, but it sounds like it's somewhat common on the C6 where it gets stretched over time. Doesn't seem too hard to do, but looks like it could require some patience getting into some tight areas.

Good Luck!

You can use your hand to guide the top so it won't touch . You can use this method until you get tired of it and either buy new straps or modify the existing ones. There is a TSB on this. It's funny as I never had any problems with my old 95 vert nor did the top have crease lines. I hope the C7 was better designed.

Mine is manual so I usually just push the glass towards the front as I close the waterfall. No big deal. Keep an eye on your headliner by the back edges of the window frame that collapses as the top is closed. Thats a bigger deal to me. You could end up with a torn headliner.

I do the same thing. It's a habit now, reach back and pull the bottom of the glass as it closes so it doesn't hit it.

It's a 13 427, and from what I've been able to learn about it, it's common on this car, this year. Not sure why. Guess I'll be giving someone a call........or just leave the top up. Not a whole lot of top down weather time left now for us northern guys.

Are you talking about the waterfall ??....or the tanneau (sp) cover ?? The waterfall is the piece that sits inside the car and covers the pull down latch. My tanneau hits the glass. I do what we've come to call in this forum the "Two finger pull back"....LOL....thanks again GM.....

Me too, on the go down, reach back quick with your right and pull the bottom of the glass about an inch towards the front of the car, on the come up, you have a few seconds more time before you have to move it forwards. I am too old and lazy to try and fix it, but I will search for the thread that shows you how to tighten up the strap yourself. Stay tuned.

Yea...i've watched just about all those I think. Seems like the common thought is those straps get so worn out that if you do adjust them it's just a matter of time before they stretch again. I'm wide open for a more permanent fix though.......keep us looped.....

Here's the one I used. Mine had the rivets on the strap on the upper end by the window. Just drilled out the rivets, pulled the strap a little tighter put in a new hole in it then washer and small bolt and keeper nut. Still works after about a year. You can get new straps, but haven't looked into yet for where. My strap was on side of one of the rails above the one shown/2006 C6 easy to get to with top up like it shows. Typical GM Brain Fart.
