I installed interior led lights two weeks ago I noticed they remain on very faintly. When you flip them they don't light because of the polarity. Does anyone know why ? It doesn't kill the battery I usually use the car every two weeks. The othe problem I have is the top squeaks. I lubed it with silicon grease but that had no effect.its a 2011 GS clear top. Thanks in advance Tommy
For the LEDs, I would assume that you are referring to the courtesy lights in the mirror. This is very common, the LEDs light faintly due to a minimal current in the system. Nothing wrong here. Just use a battery maintenance device if you don't drive often.
Maybe someone can help with your top issue. I have a transparent top and have never removed it because it doesn't squeak or rattle, and I don't want it to.
You've never removed your top because it might squeak? I take mine off all the time and experience no rattles or squeaks. Do you use the doors or just climb in through the windows? I'm just kidding. Your car...protect it as you like. But it is like driving a different car when the top is off on beautiful sunny day in September. You should try it.
You should try barrel rolling a vehicle 6 times and living through that ride
I prefer having a lid of any kind over my skull.
I don't believe I wished you to roll your vette without a roof. Why so hostile? Do you wear a helmet? Six point harness? Roll Bar? Maybe a Hummer would be safer.
Ok now I have to know! What the heck happened in that super rollover!
Old lady rear ended a stopped vehicle and shoved up into my lane as I approached from the opposite direction at 55 mph. I swerved and hit the vehicle in the passenger door post instead of the passenger side door (I would probably have killed the passenger in the vehicle). My vehicle (Chevrolet S10 Blazer 4x4) rode up over the hood at an angle and off I went. State Trooper estimated between 5-6 barrel rolls. Tore the rear axle from the Blazer and shoved it through the cargo area. Crushed the entire Blazer, roof and all, to about 4 foot total height. Extremely violent crash, I was very blessed to crawl away from it. That's why I like a roof over my head, even a removable one.
Your roll cage idea is a good one
There are a lot of posts on how to stop roof squeaks, you can search for them. One thing that helped on mine was to put some heat shrink tubing over the horizontal front pins. That and the lube has mine dead silent at the moment.

Check the 4 mounting pins on your roof, one of mine was loose, I tightened it up.
I had the same problem. The lesser expensive LED bulbs will do that. I think I bought Sylvania 194's and they did not stay on faintly.
I will have to look into the Sylvania's. I put in LED bulbs back in 2009 in the whole car. The light glow from the bulbs in the mirror don't bother me but 99.99% of the time the bulb on the passenger side of the mirror won't turn on. If I flick the plastic cover sometimes it goes on. I have swapped that one out three times during the first year and just gave up on getting it to work. Maybe the Sylvania's may fix the issue.
