I recently discovered the Ranger method for my clutch fluid and was so happy with it I might have gone too far. I was checking fluid for a long trip to Colorado Through the New Mexico desert. I checked brake fluid and noticed it was kind of dark and old looking. Took my handy Battery water tool and sucked out brake fluid and replaced with clean DOT 3. New brakes are due after the trip, buy figured it couldn't hurt. I love clean fluids. I now do the clutch fluid like every two weeks. LOL.
Is it necessary or helpful to do it that often? I've done the ranger method once on mine with the clutch fluid maybe like 2 months ago, not sure when to do it again.
I do it when it looks dirty. It is so easy and cheap. Just like brake fluid. I swap some nasty stuff out and add some clean stuff. So....tell what that hurts?????
The correct way to do it would be to suck out the old dirty fluid, then bleed the brakes until clean brake fluid comes out. That's typically how I do my brake fluid changes.
