Don't try it. Page 5-6 of my 2008 owners manual says not to use higher than E10.
My Lexus can use up to E15, so I tried it once. Gas mileage dropped 2 mpg, and it seemed a little less responsive. Not worth the 5 cents per gallon savings, in my opinion.

ANY ethanol will lower mileage. Chemically it should lower by about half the concentration. 10% ethanol should lower mpg 5% but my experience is 10% lowers much closer to 10%. That is why high ethanol concentration gas is usually a lot cheaper than real gas except where the stations are trying to scam the ignorant customers or recover the higher cost of ethanol where the government doesn't subsidize it as much.

My numbers agree with yours. The CT usually gets 43 mpg, the extra 5% ethanol lowered the mileage another 5%.
On the other hand, our vans at work are flex-fuel and run on E85. They actually drive really well and average about 17mpg in the city. I don't know what a gas version of a Caravan normally gets, but I wouldn't expect more than 20.
