Default Tracking down a clunking suspension noise
For awhile now I have been experiencing a solid dull clunk moving at low speeds over rough roads. It seems to be triggered by sudden vertical drops (ie. speed bumps) The clunk only occurs when the wheel falls DOWN, never UP. I have had it checked numerous times by both dealer and reputable suspension shop where every suspension bolt was torqued to spec. Car has 6,000 miles and nothing has been changed. I have checked shocks (F55) and end links numerous times. My thought is to change end links even though they look new and are torqued to 60 ft. Lbs.
Car shows no other suspension issues going over bumps, turning. It is only on the left front. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I had on my C5 and have seen on a couple of C6's the sway bar end link is not seated correctly. The bolts may be tight to spec but they are not centered into the opening of the bar or control arm.
Get the car up in the air and really tug on the link i the direction that seems to cause the noise. If you feel it slip that end link needs to be re-seated and tightened properly.
Other than this it could be bad/damaged bushings on the control arms.
