Good thing he has someone like you who knows everything there is to know about Corvettes and has never asked an easy question to tell him that. Sure, he could have read the manual or searched, but he chose to ask this very welcoming, friendly bunch instead. Sorry, but there's much nicer ways to tell people you think you're smarter than them.

When you go to open the car door, the windows lower slightly for access then raise again once the door is closed. If it didn't index, the window would snag on the seal.
If the window does not index correctly, simply hold the window buttons in the up position for 3 to 5 seconds with the doors closed/car running and it will re-index to the correct position.

you need to hold both switches up twice for 3-5 seconds.
You need to usually do this after the battery has been disconnected and re connected.
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds and
release.

Clearly there are a lot of things you are ignorant of on the C6. RTFM. http://www.c6registry.com/technical/.../06vetteom.pdf

2006 Owner's Manual, page 2-18.
Not mentioned in the manual: If this is required because of a car battery disconnect & reconnect, remember to do both windows.
Window Indexing
This feature automatically lowers the window a small
amount when the door is opened. Then, when the door
is closed, the window will raise to its full up position.
If either window does not index properly, it could be due
to loss of power. Before returning to your dealer for
service, perform the power window initialize procedure
following.
Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement, the
window index-up feature will not function until the system
is initialized. Once power is restored, do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds and
release.

FortMorganAl, you actually said he was ignorant and to "RTFM". I'm truly not trying to start anything with you. I've been in the Corvette circle for 25 years and have seen so many new people turned off by people who treat them rudely because they don't know something or have done something "sacriligeous" to a Vette. You're absolutely right, my post offered nothing for an answer, and I probably shouldn't have posted it. I won't do that again. Vette_DD, I didn't have a problem with your post, only the other one I felt was rude. Although, I didn't realize post count was a measure of someone's worth. Until now, I just haven't commented unless I had something useful to say. I won't be commenting further on this as it won't be productive and I really have no interest in arguing with either of you or any of the other wonderful Corvette lovers here. I truly apologize for stirring up anything. I just felt I wanted to say my piece. Hopefully you can both accept my apology and we can get back to Corvettes.

I know they don't teach English in school any more so you are forgiven for being ignorant of simple English. Now look up the definition. I'm just trying to educate people here in areas that I am not ignorant.
But, on the bright side, after 16 years you finally got 4 thanks for your ignorant opinion.

I'm done with this one. I said I was sorry and gave my opinion. I'm actually very well educated and aware what the term ignorant means. I told you I was sorry and shouldn't have posted it, but apparently like you, wanted to say my piece. I did, and I'm done. I have no problem with you or anyone else and would just like to get back to all of us enjoying Corvettes. If you feel the need to continue insulting me or my intelligence, feel free, but I won't be participating any further.

I found this informative as I had this issue and just assumed my Corvette was old and was plummeting into senility. Thanks to the OP. Thanks to those who provided answers. Thanks for the rest of the typical social "entertainment"?

I tried this and it works, but after I close the door, the driver side window will index and re-index. Had to put in a new battery. 2nd problem is the door latch won't work consistently after replacing it with a new one from gmpartsdirect.com. If I bang on the door where the red light is that blinks to show the door is locked or not, it will index and re-index. Connections are tight and I had never taken the door panel off until I found banging on it works.
Any ideas?

You should probably read your manual before you try and drive your car anymore.
