Default TPMS and drag racing wheels?

I have a set of reproduction rims with 275/40/17 mickey thompsons on them.

Will I have issues because they do not have the TPMS sensors in them?

Tire pressure would be low at the track anyway?

I will be turning off the traction control

I have 4 sets of rims for mine and I installed the sensors in a PVC tube so that I would never have an issue with them and I drive over 300 miles to the track with tires installed on car

so to answer your question ... no you will not have a problem especially if u are turning off TC

it takes a while for the car to even check to see if they are there , I want to say it's 30 miles

I went to the track last night , put drag radials on , ran all night and then put my street tires back on .... never heard one complaint from the car

At one time, I had no sensors for over 7K miles and drove deep into triple digit speeds with no adverse issues.

Without sensors you'll be fine. Did it many times with my extra set of rims with drag radials and no sensors. You run into problems when you run sensors with pressure less than 25psi, which will cause the TC/AH to kick in unless turned off.

I did find out the used rim/tire set up I bought has 06 TPMS sensors in them. I need to get a tool to calibrate them to my car. With changing back and forth, I think I need my own tool

Any suggestions?

Now there are different Tire Pressure Sensors between the years , I think its 2009 and up that use one type that broadcasts on a specific frequency and 2008 and down use another frequency

This is what I bought for my 2011 Base Coupe as I was tired of looking at the light when running my other set of tires

Reset Tool
Amazon Amazon

Sensors
Amazon Amazon

The tool works great , put the car in TPMS relearn mode by holding both the lock and unlock buttons on your key fob

Horn will beep , place tool at left front sensor right where the tire meets the rim and press button, Horn will beep , move to Right Front tire and do the same , then right rear and left rear . After left rear the Horn will beep twice and you are done

I need it for a 2008. Looks like that tool is for 2010-2013 only?
