I am in the process of removing my center console to replace the micro switch or tie back the locking pawl. I cannot unplug the power port that is inside the console. I've unplugged the cig lighter, hazard lights, ride control & heated seats. But over 1/2 hour and it will not come out. Is there a trick or something I'm missing? I've tried a search couldn't find anything.
Now after all that, the switch that I ordered, that another forum member used doesn't fit. The switch I ordered has 3 prongs on the back, the one in the car doesn't have any, it's hard wired.

Chickened out, ended up wiring back the pawl for now. Found out how to connect the new switch, need a couple of connectors. Might be a good winter project. Wasn't in the mood for cutting & splicing wires.
I feel your pain !!! I wound up having to make a special tool so I could reach up and over the connection to press the release tab. I used one of those old fashion tooth and gum massaging thing-a-ma-jigs that have the little rubber tip on them. I took the rubber tip off and the point that was left underneath worked to go up and over the connecter and press the tab......total PITA !!!!!
