I put my car in hibernation today. Sooner than normal.
I had the cover cleaned at the cleaner, it shrunk.
I can still use it but it doesn't go over the tail pipes and front
bumper like it did. But don't wash yours.
Also, as I suspected, the hatch won't lock once the battery is disconnected.
Normally I put a charger on the battery(Cigarette lighter outlet),
but this year I'm storing it off site with no electricity.
I take the ground cable off the battery(GS the battery is in the back)
and close the hatch. It didn't lock.
I didn't check the doors, are they locked?
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Kliph

You should take the battery out and keep it charged at home. The hatch may lock if the battery is disconnected.
The hatch will lock, just push it down. Make sure you drop the windows an inch or so to make sure you can open the doors later. You can use your key to open the hatch with the battery disconnected. Unhooking the battery will result in having to re index the windows when hooked back up. In other words if your windows are NOT down a little before you disconnect the battery it will make opening the doors difficult and may tear the weather stripping. You can lower the windows with the key on or just have both doors open when you disconnect the battery.
The rear hatch will lock, it just doesn't have the "electric pull down" it has when the battery is connected. You have to push it down by hand. But make sure the key lock in the rear above the license plate works BEFORE you close the doors and the hatch, otherwise, how do you get back in the car??? Or roll a window down a few inches.
