I got mine two years ago when I was getting training for my Cane Corso. The trainer said it was the best way to train a dog. I agree. Our dog got her Canine Good Citizenship blue ribbon just using clicker training and hand signals. She now follows all commands with hand signals or I can use voice.

Heh, no kidding.
I assumed they were just a dumb little toy from a bygone era.

As a toy, I have no idea about the appeal of a clicker. It's annoying. For dog training, anything that makes a sound will work, even a whistle. It's just for stimulus response. But the dog clicker is still annoying. Like a cricket chirping in your house at night, and you can't find and kill it.

It was just for like 5 year-old boys to annoy their father with.
I used to hear the clicks every morning, but not lately. The DIC says active handling is on, but no clicks. Should I be concerned? Did the shop forget to connect something?

These are likely the noisy relays. If it wasn't connected, the diagnostics would freak-out. You should be fine.
I've heard them on my '08 when I stop at the main road out of my sub, which is after about a block of 20mph driving. Not all the time though. Maybe it happens but I tune it out, or the radio is on, idk. I thought it was the A/C compressor clutch. Glad to know it's not anything to be concerned about.
