Default 2005 C6 starter location

Is the starter on the passengers side ?
Is it accessible ?
I was hoping to jack up the car to access the positive cable on the starter, to get a charge to the battery.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or experience with this ?
My car is dead and the door window won't index down to open the door.

If you have the key you can pop the rear hatch. The key goes in just above the rear license plate. Once you open the rear hatch there is a manual door release on the left. Pull that and the drivers door will open. Open the hood and you'll have access to charge the battery.
Not sure which side the starter is on if you don't have a key.

Starter is on right beneath the passenger side exhaust manifold. It’s possible to access and/or remove without disconnecting the midpipe from the manifold (at least for my small hands), but it a very tight space and takes some work. Not sure if you’d be able to do what you’re wanting to do without disconnecting the exhaust though.

If you have used the key to open the hatch and pull the door open cord you will need to pull on the door with a bit of force to get the window out from under the roof. Just pull it, it won't break anything.

Wouldn't recommend, unless you want a broken window !!!

I had a dead battery on my 05 vert. The door opened with the trunk release but you could not close door until it indexed down. I don't remember it been difficult or having to force it. I did have to pull on the cable while opening the door. This may be your problem!

Do you really think GM designed the car to need a new window every time someone had to use the emergency door open cable?

Absolutely not...It's a very poor design from GM...That's all...

I have made up a long rod with a hook on the end, to fish in through the side of the drivers door window, to try to catch the hood release... It may work ???

You're making this a whole lot harder than it needs to be. Just pull the door past the weather strip on the roof. IT WILL NOT BREAK!! You're not the first one this has happened to. You would be reading about broken windows every day here if that were possible.
