Automatic Trans Temp Missing
Hello!
I have a C6 2005 (
1G1YY24U055102860 ) and GAGES Button don't show the Transmission Fluid Temperature. I can see everything else just fine.
Any comments to help?

Hello User Omega,
Is just missing. No "Trans Temp". I just realize that was missing the info when I was reading the owners manual.

I hope another user will be able to give you something. I didn't expect you to come back with that.

When you go through the different reading does the DIC show Trans Temp and no reading of the temp. or does it not even show that?

Sounds weird one-off electronic glitch
Try rebooting computers.
Disconnect battery a few minutes & reconnect, refreshes everything.
Check again.
Might get lucky as so many of us have curing electronic flukes.

Or the sensor went bad in the transmission.
My 07 has had the oil pressure sensor and light sensor on dash go bad.

Could be.
OP's missing xmission temp reading, same as your symptom?
Does this sensor have a dual role of temp & pressure?
A reboot might be a cheap place to start for showing what it isn't.

There are seperate sensors for temp and pressure.
My oil pressure sensor went bad and read 80 psi all the time, even in acc mode without the eng running.
Have not had to replace the transmission temp sensor or ever heard of one going bad......

Neither had I.
Yet something's sending temp data to ECM for display, no?
Just has the feel of C6's infamous electronic ghosts, a simple reboot often rectifies this stuff.

I think if a sensor was bad he would either get an off the chart reading for the temp or it would stay at zero or maybe fluctuate up and down erratically. I can't believe it would make "Trans Temp" disappear off the list.

I went to a GM dealer and the scanner shows no error.

internal to the trans.the trans temp sensor is part of the trans fluid pressure manual valve position switch.drop trans pan and you can access without removing valve body.if issue with it it should set DTC P0713

Nor would it, not for this.
Try a reboot, start w/ a clean slate & proceed from there.
Please report back.

Is it an automatic? Assume it is....don't think manuals display trans temp on the DIC.
EDIT: I see where you state Auto in your title. No clue now.

Check the RPO codes. Maybe it wasn't always auto. Or even more likely, maybe the computer failed and was replaced with the manual trans version.
