Default Head units $250.00 VS. $650.00

$250.00 VS. $650.00 Thats the going price on ebay for a Pumpkin 8 core Andriod 6.0 vs. $650.00 for a Kenwood 9704S I need the input from you forum members who have had actual experiences with the Asian Andriod head units. the price is so very attractive that i cant pass up but if their more trouble than their worth Ill run and purchase a kenwood head unit. so what do you think Andriod vs. Kenwood which one you you purchase

I have a Pumpkin unit and it does everything I need it to. I prefer something that is truly Android and rootable.

Being able to install any Play Store app is fantastic.

I have an older pumpkin quad core on Android 5.1

There are a couple of ways for the internet. You can use your phone as a Hotspot. But I use a mobile Hotspot from Freedom Pop that is a fairly low data plan for $4 a month. I find that I don't use a ton of data. Really just for Spotify and Google Maps or Waze.

Which is another huge benefit of a true Android head unit. I love being able to use the constantly updated Google maps for nav. Being able to run Waze is a great option as well. Torque paired with a Bluetooth OBD reader can give you some awesome customized real time gauges of most of the cars sensors.

There are also several launchers available on the play store that are geared towards android head units. I believe I'm using car launcher pro at the moment. It's nice to have the flexibility to use what works well for me.

I have a Coconut type. Its pretty good, probably not as good as your Pumpkin unit though. Not sure if its Android or Asian, might be European. It doesn't have any roots either.
