Default Question about J6D RPO on 2013 anniversary package -base model

A few months ago I acquired a 2013 base model convertible with the Z25 60th anniversary package and Z30 60th anniversary stripe package. It had to have the 4LT package to get the Z25 package. According to the 2013 order guide, the J6D dark grey painted calipers were included with the 60th anniversary package. The car also has the $500 larger cross drilled rotors option (J55) and it has F55 shocks - which is also confusing in the order guide because it says you can't get J55 and F55 together, yet that's what is on my car.

"Z25 NEW! 60th Anniversary Design Package, includes
Arctic White exterior color, Diamond Blue interiortrim, 60th logos on seats and special steering wheelbadge, suede steering wheel, shifter and park brakewith Blue stitching, special 60th wheel caps, (J6D)Dark Gray Metallic brake calipers, body-color doorhandles, and body-color ZR1-style full-width spoiler"

So my window sticker shows the 60th anniversary package as a $1425 option. It also lists out the Gray Calipers as a separate $595 option.

I have two questions.

1. If it was included as part of the Z25 package, why was it also a seperate option?
2. More importantly to me, I noticed only the fronts have the Gray calipers, and the rears are the standard black calipers. For you people with base models and the J6D package, do you have the gray painted calipers all around or just on the front like mine? Every photo of 2013's with the other color brake caliper RPO codes have them on all 4 wheels. Kind of curious about why mine does not. It has original wheels, tires were replaced, and there is plenty of clearance between the caliper and the wheel spokes.

None of this impacts my ability to enjoy the car, so maybe the analytical part of my brain is just overthinking all of this and I need to get out and drive my car more. However, I am very curious and inquiring minds need to know things like this to help fill up my vast reservoir of semi-useless knowledge.

Thanks.

Bumping this because I know there are a few people on here that know all the original options, RPO codes, and configurations on these C6's. Wondering why my car doesn't have the gray "Corvette" calipers all the way around based on the way the car was originally optioned with both J6D and Z25, or was this just the way Chevy did the caliper option that year?

I'm stuck of the fact that a "base model" is EXACTLY that a base model. with options like that it's not a "base model"

J6D should be dark gray calipers, so perhaps something altered the appearance of a couple to no longer match the exact shade

unsure why they listed them as an option as well included with the package................

attached is a 2013 Corvette Production sheet with options listed to determine how many of each were produced

I would contact the National Corvette Museum and see if there is someone that can answer your specific questions. They have experts on staff and have access to every Corvette statistic, build sheet and options that the car was ordered with or what was available specifically for that year.

Z25 says..."and gray painted brake calipers". Not dark gray.
Because you were not the original owner of the car it could be any number of things.
Gray front and black rear would drive me nuts. I would have to paint them all to match.

I am going by what they call it in the 2013 order guide. Maybe I should refer to it as a narrow body?

you had it right calling it a base, as the models were base / Grand Sport / Z06 and ZR1.......................

even the 427 convertible was based on the Grand Sport platform, just with major upgrades to some body panels, drivetrain, and suspension components from the other models

I have the build sheet and window sticker for the vehicle, and a pdf copy of the 2013 order guide. So I thought it was kind of strange to see the order guide description of the Z25 option included J6D metallic gray calipers, and then see on the window sticker CALIPERS - GRAY listed below that with a $595 price. Anyway, it's more of a curiosity thing. Thanks for the link to the production sheet.

if your rear calipers are a different color some one replaced them for one reason or another

Hi

I have a 2013 Base Coupe with Z25, Z30, and J55. Bought it used, and then later bought a REPLICA window sticker, build sheet, and order guide from National Corvette Museum. I emphasize replica because I don't know how exact a replica of the paper window sticker it is.

Nevertheless, while I do have J6D, my replica window sticker does not show it as a separately charged item. And I do have gray on all four calipers.

Don't know if that helps or not.

Mine is a 60th anniversary GS, all 4 calipers are grey. That is the one item I don't care for. Red would look better IMHO.
