Manual transmission warm
Is it expected for the center console around the transmission to feel warm to the touch while driving normally after an hour or two? It practically heats up my drinks

Yeah, quite normal. There are several ways to cut down on the tunnel heat somewhat. You can try some heat reflecting insulation underneath the car in the tunnel right above the x-pipe or in the interior under the carpet/center console. Won't totally eliminate it, but should help quite a bit.

I made it a point never to put anything like chocolate candy in my console with any of the automatics I had.

Thanks for the replies! Just wanted to make sure something wasn't wrong. I think i'll be ok without the insulation. Will just finish my drinks before the ice melts and avoid chocolate!

And just so you know, it is not your transmission under the center console, it is your driveshaft and exhaust.
Having said that, I bought a sheet of stick on aluminized insulation on Amazon and put it on the bottom of the tunnel plate, and then took the console loose and used an aluminized stick on insulation there, and inside my console barely changes temps now, even after hour long drives.
Search for my name, and you will see info about it, along with other posts.
Both are easy to do, should take less than a couple hours and less than $50, if you shop a little.
