how replace the battery in 2013 Grand Sport

It's in the trunk. Buy a replacement battery, pull the old one out, put the replacement in. Pretty straightforward. Or, if you aren't even slightly mechanically inclined, go to an auto parts store. Most of them offer free installation. The OEM battery has a vent tube on it since the battery is inside the car; the replacement should also have the tube.

You should really search first...I just had to replace mine on Monday on my '13 6MT. I reckon it was the original, and with temps here in the northeast down to the 30's and 40's, it went flat. Bought a new Delco one from the dealer for $125 and installed myself.
Although it is straightforward, pulling it up out of the well was a bit of a pain! I couldn't get enough leverage to pull it straight up so I used a strap underneath to lift with my left hand and supported the other side with the right and it came right out. It's very tight in that well and difficult to get your hands down and around the battery. Note: you may need to re-index your windows which takes about 20 seconds.
Got to love an American car where no 'reprogramming or initializing' is required - just drag and drop!! With my M5, the replacement cost was $400 at the dealer - and BMW uses interstate batteries! Not even some fancy German brand. F that.

I had an Advance Auto group 85-2 in hand but it was a year old. Called Chevy dealer and they had a GS Dry Sump Delco Battery in stock for $125

Duracell makes an exact replacement. It has the same vent tube so it hooks right up. Has a handle so it's easy to get it down in the hole. Got mine at Batteries plus. And yes the OEM delco is a bitch to get out.

0---they take them to a dealer. Don't ask me why, I guess no one knows how to replace a light bulb, much less a battery. I would send it back to Chevrolet and tell them this one is no good. Geeze.
Why would someone go to a dealer to replace a battery?????

If you look, this is the OP's first post in this forum so at least they're trying to learn. I'm sure you know as well as I do that not everyone is mechanically inclined as you or myself on these matters. On my first car, I couldn't afford to pay someone to fix it, so I bought a repair manual and dove into it and learned how to myself and have rebuilt many engines, transmissions, brakes, rear ends, etc. myself since, and even though I have the money now, I'm to cheap to pay someone to do something I know I can do myself. In my opinion they should make some minor mechanical skills part of drivers training so people at least know the basics, this being one of them, but since they don't, we all need to start somewhere.

On my 13 Grand Sport with a manual tranny, I had the dealer replace the battery as a precautionary measure because it was a little over 4 years old. However, I just didn't go to the dealer to have them replace the battery, I coincide the battery replacement with a scheduled service so I don't have to deal with the disposal of the hazardous waste of the oil/filter and the battery.
Also, it is a good time to replace the battery in the FOBs.

Not everybody is mechanically inclined. I have taught manufacturing statistics to a lot of people in my career, and I always told them the only stupid question was the one they didn't ask. From my observations, the majority of the Millennial generation is woefully unprepared for real life.

Jeeeze ... This thread is just another example of a brand new member here with zero previous posts ... He makes his first post by asking a simple question ... and then he gets lots of answers from folks here trying to help him ... but, he never comes back to the thread he started ... Not even to say thanks !
