Default High Beam Headlight Problem, Help!

I have a 2007 base C-6. At night whenever I flip the right turn signal switch, my headlights go from the low beam to the high beam. Once the signal turns off, the high beam turn off also. Has anyone else
had this problem? What could it be? Thanks.

Yes. Though the usual scenario is that the high beams flash briefly when operating the turn signal. A number of people, including myself, have had this problem.

The cause is a bad turn signal lever. You just replace the whole thing. They're not too expensive.

It's the multi-lever. Last I looked, Amazon carries them, fairly easy to replace.

Ordered one from Amazon in September for less than $30. Took about an hour to replace it myself.

Anyone has some general instructions? I am moderately mechanical inclined. Thanks.

The plastic around the steering column snaps together, so you have to unsnap it to get it off. Be careful and don't break the plastic tabs.

The multi-lever itself is three screws as I remember. Two are on the side and are easy to access. The third is "under" the steering wheel ... you can get to it without removing the wheel with a small phillips bit, but it is sort of a pain. Undoing that one screw is what took most of my time. But it was still easier than pulling the steering wheel.

It really straight forward once you get into it.

Don't know about all C6's, but on my 05 you have to remove the rubber trim ring to be able to pull the plastic around the steering column apart. (Its at the instrument cluster end, not steering wheel end of the plastic surround)

Although you could do it with enough force, the rubber part holds the plastic surround snaps together and locks them. The rubber trim ring is attached by tabs and just pulls off.

Thanks guys. I am going to give it a try. I was afraid that the steering wheel had to be removed. The forum is so much help!
