Hesitant on the diffuser. The stripe is only on the hood

The stripe was on it when I bought it but I'm fairly sure it's the "Cooksey 427 Corvette" hood decal

Damn, what did they run? I'm looking at the reproductions. Their around $1k. Or can have my GS wheels powder coated gloss black for about $750.

Whoa, what, wait, $750 to powder coats you wheels Way out of line on that. I just checked on having mine done gloss black and the place I have always used apologized that they had to raise their rates to $100 @ wheel which I thought was outrageous
Last set I had done was $200 total

Well, quite honestly, you'd hate me if I told you what I gave for them. Bought them from a guy here on the forum in the C7 section. He pulled them off at 1700 miles...mint

I just checked at this one place last week. This place has a rep for doing good work. They quoted from pictures through an email. I was planning on checking around but assumed prices would be close. Never had anything powder coated so don't know what the going rate is around here.

Mag Red exterior right? I had that on my 2000 Conv. with Oak top and interior...Always liked that color. At any rate, yours is very nice and tastefully done IMO.

Originally Magnetic Red, yes, then repainted Crystal Red Metallic TC when the wide body conversion was done.

I like it, only things I would change if it were my car is, I would have done the mirrors and rear deck lid spoiler in black and at the stripe just be solid instead of the extra pattern in it

Yeah I guess powder coating is more expensive here in N Alabama. I found a place with very good reviews that will do all 4 wheels for $650. I should have known better than to ask the OP or to post anything about cost because no matter what price you put on here somebody is going to reply how your getting ripped off because they got it done so much cheaper. I always look for the best price and will pay a little more for quality.

My thoughts .... PERFECT 10/10

I'm going the same direction but stumped on the hood. I think you have give me the direction to go forward.

One suggestion if I may, wrap your rear spoiler in gloss black you can always remove the wrap. Mine is painted black and I love the look with the black halo.

My halo at the moment is black wrap, the only reason I haven't painted it is the wrap is the exact color of the blackout on the glass. I'm trying to decide how to keep that look in paint (and I have to fix the wart hole too which I just wrapped over.)

I agree with the above. Its the "right amount" of black that compliments and balances the car color. Nice job!

Yeah its a matter of you can rest assured I'm going to shop around and find the best price and quality work available in my area. I'm not stupid or poor so I can pay what I think is fair for whatever I want and don't need you to quote me on here about you can get something done for 1/4 of of the price when your on the other side of the country. I was comparing the first price I got for powder coating vs buying the reproduction wheels.
Like I said I should have known better.

I think NSF was just commenting on the high cost of things today. I really don’t think he meant any offense to you, nor do I by interjecting here. We’ve talked at length regarding wheels. He’s just not like that. Good luck with your wheels, I’m sure you’ll find the best deal in your area. I shop the same way!

OP .... your car looks great!
