I have read ad nauseum, dating back years, all about C6 headlights...in those years, new products have come to market. My 2010 C6 (just purchased) happens to have really perfect lenses. Florida car. Whats the consensus on the best and most practical way to prolong their pristene condition? Wax? Armor all? Detailer? Info posted years ago may now be inaccurate.

I posted a somewhat similar question several weeks ago and got just a few responses. I was simply asking if anyone knew if there was a coating for UV protection that worked. I have polished out several headlight lenses (not necessarily vettes) to the point of looking like new and was wondering if anyone knew what the factories were using as their UV protection seems to last several years. So far all i've found over the counter is stuff that seems to be no more than a spray on and spread out and let dry approach. Most of that stuff just smells like mineral spirits so i'm not sure how thats spose to do any good. If you come up with a winner let us know.....
Couple weeks ago I used the 3M restoration kit on my 06 subaru baja, they were really bad, and I was amazed with the results, they came out perfect. I mean good as new...But I guess the lenses on Casper (shes a white car)are different. No chemicals have been suggested, so..at least..what can i use to get bugs off the lenses? Bug remover is a chemical..??
I've owned my now 11 year old '07 Mustang GT since new. The plastic headlights are still excellent. Actually there are 4 with the running lights. I've used both Mother's detailer and Mother's spray wax over the years and there are zero issues with clouding up or being old looking. I've run into all kinds of bugs on the highway. They clean right up. The GT has been garage kept (except on vacations) and has 48k miles as I write this. I think 'garage kept' is key. Whenever my C6 finally arrives (just bought it) I plan on doing the same thing with the same products. I can't imagine a Corvette lens being affected by them if a Mustang lens is fine after all this time. Attachment 48242965

My friend also has a 67 Stang. His lenses look like new and he's never done a thing to them. Thats because the angle they are at doesn't have the sun beating down on them ever. The sun would never shine on them unless you were parked directly into a sun set or a sun rise. And at that time the sun isn't strong enough to do much damage......

My personal experience is using rejex. Got 8 years out of my lens. Many report keeping a good quality wax seems to prolong the life of the lens which have averaged about 5 years.
btw I have 10 years experience with the C6 lens and have sold over 10,000 sets of lens over the years.
