Default C6 A6 LS3 track overheating issues ?

I'm thinking about taking my 2011 GS A6 to the track, and was wondering if there were any overheating issues with it like the C7 A8. I'm in Phoenix, Az., where it gets warm !

I would say doubtful that a track day would be a problem. Make sure you have the car inspected and the brakes and all fluids are in good shape. IIRC the Corvette is the only car that doesn't void it's warranty for a track day.

Obviously if the car overheats or you get brake fade, take it off the track. And no amount of preventive care will help if you overcook a corner and bin it into the fence.

Nope, you should be good. I'd think about getting some fresh trans fluid (especially if it has decent mileage on it), and DEFINITELY get new brake fluid -Valvoline synthetic dot works well, is cheap, amd is at most auto parts stores.

the C6 is a more robust platform overall than the C7.

You'll be pushing the limits on a 20 minute session at WHP between May and Oct, assuming you have a stock converter. You need extra cooling if you have a higher stall speed. FAUEE is spot on about fresh fluids.

15 minute sessions in my 2012 GS A6 and I have never had any issues.

y 2010 GS did fine for 20 minute sessions at Road Atlanta. I cut speak for Arizona tracks, but I think the GS has enough cooling for most novice drivers. If you're really experienced and fast, you may need more cooling. If it' your first time out there, it' not something I would let worry me. It is far more robust than the the A8.
