2005 C6 Front Tire Size Help Please!
I know there are tons of tire size threads but please allow me to explain.
I have a 2005 C6 Corvette Convertible with Z06 wheels on it. I wanted a little wider tire than the 245 front tire so I went with a Nitto NT05 275.
Needless to say it is too big and hits the fenders, I raised the ride height and made the shocks stiffer which helps but I want it lower and the ability to adjust my shocks.
I have looked at the tire specs on the Nitto NT05 and I know the 245 will work fine, it is the stock size. The 275 is too big so for future reference guys, no 275 on the front unless you have a wide body, grand sport or Z06.
My question is this, will the Nitto 255 fit at original ride height and not hit or must I stay with the 245. I bought these 275 and have less than 50 miles on them and hate to have to buy new ones and put 50 miles on them also to find out they are also too big. So if anyone knows for sure if the 255 will work please let me know, if not I will stick with the factory 245.
Thanks for your help in advance.

No, I know the oem sizes, I have the Nitto NT05R in 305 on the rear and the work fine with no issues, I put the 275 on the front hoping for meat on the ground and it does do that but they hit the fender wells and I cannot run normal ride height or change my shocks to softer or they will tear the fenders off. I know the 245 will work since that is stock but I am curious if I can go a little bigger to the 255 size.
Here are the specs..
245 tires are 9.65 Wide
I put the 275 on which are 10.79 Wide
255 are 10.24
265 are 10.43
Clearly the change from 245 at 9.65 to the 275 at 10.79 is too much, but I am curious if the 255 at 10.24 will fit and not hit anything, they are about .60 of an inch wider but not the about 1.10 wider the 275 tires are. I wish the 255 were just 10.0 instead of the 10.24 but not my choice.
Does anyone have 255 size tires on the front of their base C6 and what is the spec width of them and do they work and not hit anything? Thanks, hope that helps explain it better.

Melting Slicks
The car will probably have quicker turn in with the smaller front tire. The handling balance will be affected with mismatched tire sizes too. It might have more grip with wider tires but most drivers are seldom on the edge of adhesion on the street to take advantage of it.

Burning Brakes
I run 275/35-18 tires on 18x9.5" +56 wheels (Cray Spiders) up front on my 2009 coupe (narrow body) with absolutely no issues. It's a great mod for a huge increase in high speed cornering, and I like the look as well.

I still have not had anyone chime in on if the 255 will work so I guess its 245 for me.
If anyone wants some NITTO NT05 275/35/18 tires with less than 100 miles on them let me know, I will sell at a fair price.
