Just looking at my tyres and wanted some clarification on something. From what I can read off them they were manufactured in the year 2012. Still plenty of tread left as car was not driven much.
On the front they are labelled Michelin Pilot Sport Radial X
On the rear is just lists them as Radial X. The tread pattern looks the same as the fronts so this leads me to believe the rears are also Pilot Sports.
All 4 tyres are ZP.
Would love something that has a little more grip currently have 570rwhp.
The age of the tyre could be a contributing factor as 5.5 years old now.
I have read about the toyo 888, and the Michelin Pilot Sports 2. But the Michelin have had lots of threads on the death wobble.
Just trying to figure out what tyre to go with next. Current rims are 19-20. But have stock rims 18-19 that I can use once I paint black.
Current tyres are 335/25/20 and 285/30/19
As for choice in Australia I think I am limited but may be able to find the toyo or michelin.
Maybe next tyres without theZP if that improves traction considerably?
I have been looking at new tires as well. From what I have read the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S are very good tires. I plan on putting them on my 13 GS soon.
Also noticed that the rear rhs gap between tyre and wheel arch is considerably less than the left hand side. I would say 1/2" difference. The car has coilovers so maybe the height needs to be readjusted?
