that is unique. can it be rotated? its current position looks a little awkward. but that's just my preference.
my first car ( '64 olds cutlass ) had a powerglide trans. the shifter in that was a "T" style, while not exactly like yours, does bring back some good memories.

Yes, they can be rotated. That one looks like it needs a bit of a clockwise turn to me, but the owner may just be very tall. I had one in my 2004 Mach-1 and loved it and may just put one in my Vette if the universal one has the right thread adapter for the MGW flat shifter.

I'm not that tall at 5'11" But it is how you like to grab the handle. To each his own. I must have adjusted it twenty times before I got it the way it worked for me. And I'll probably adjust it again.

Well, you are an inch taller than me I did the same thing with my Mach 1, just kept altering the angle until I could bang third comfortably. Everyone's seating position, arm length and feel on the handle will likely be different. Sorry if my post came across as your setup being wrong, there is no wrong for this stuff.
