How many had a C5 before their C6???

I had an 01 z06 and loved it. I ended up selling it simply because it had 160k miles on it and as a Fail driver I thought it was near the end of being reliable. Stupid me. The guy I sold it to has it up to 310k miles now.
I am the rare guy that does not like the wide body so I got a 2012 base coupe. Have 65k miles on it now. As said above it’s an advancement but not a huge one. I do wish they still made a FRC though. My 2012 has better seats and steering wheel than my C5 z06 but other than that comfort and performance are similar.

I skipped the C5 and went straight from a 1996 C4 to my 2009 C6. Whoa! This was as different as the Mercury rocket was to the Space Shuttle. The difference is amazing. Everyone I talk to says each generation is so much better. I certainly agree.

I had an ‘03 coupe for five years. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but, I like my C6 even more. I have owned it for eight years and have no interest in moving to a C7.

03 vert to 07 coupe to 12 GS Centennial vert. I like the C6 better than the C5, especially the 12.

Bought a 98 C5 coupe auto new in 1999 , lovd it nver a problem but the auto was kind of a ***** car so sold it and went to a 2013 GS with a M6 in 2014 -- love the C6 more --- BUT would be very happy with either.
I liked the Grandsports so much I bought 2 of them -- Black and a Torch Red .Both are M6.

Other than the C1 & C2 cars, I never had any interest in any other Corvettes until the GS was released in 2010. The base model C6 doesn't appeal to me. I looked at the C7's, but I like C6 GS far better.

Melting Slicks
I had a 2002 coupe automatic for a couple of years. Electron Blue with black interior. I added a cam, headers, CAI, exhaust, torque converter and a few other appearance mods. It made 400HP at the wheels and was fast. A friend asked me one day how much would I take for it? The next thing I knew he was driving away in it. I always wanted a 6 speed vert so I recently jumped on a 2010 3LT that I found online that had 4,100 miles. It is optioned very nicely and has everything but NAV which I can live without. The C5 had more throttle response but the C6 is more refined. I have already done W2M, CAGS, and I think I will pull the trigger on a Vitesse Throttle Controller to help with the lag. Great car and I'm just waiting on the weather to clear to drive it more! I also have a C2 (1966 convertible) and I will post pictures of the new addition when I can!

Advanced
We've had our C5 just about 5 years now and are looking to get into a C6 GS. Love the C5, our first Corvette, and basically just looking for something newer. Current car a coupe, 6 spd, looking at a vert, 6 spd.
I'll miss the pop up headlights, but I'm sure the LS3 will help me forget.
Any former C5 owners with tips, advice??
Thanks!

I had a 02 vert 6 speed mag red for 13 yrs. Always wanted a C6 Z06 coupe so I thought, I ended up w/a 13 60th anniversary 427 roadster.

Thank You all for the comments!! Pretty much confirmed what I was thinking! Sure, I'll miss the pop up headlights, but I'm quite sure the extra horsepower and other improvement will be worth it!
A 2002 with 7k on the odometer shouldn't be too hard to move!
Thanks Again!!

Drifting
I started out with a 69 L46 4 Speed Roadster and then purchased a 99 6 speed convertible. I really wanted a GS so I bought a 13 GS, 3LT, MN6, convertible that I absolutely love and traded the 99 in. I sold the 69 a few months later because we weren't driving it and I didn't want it just sitting around. My 99 was a great car but I can't keep my a** out of the seat of my GS.

I had a 99 C5 for 9 1/2 years, loved the car. I would only upgrade to a Grand Sport since I love the widebody. Since your looking for a GS your making the right choice. If you can try and find a 2013. I bought mine new almost 5 years ago. Been problem free. You will love the power of the LS3 over the LS1 and the braking/handling of the GS can’t be beat.

Constant Improvement
Have enjoyed a ‘65, ‘72, (took a break to raise kids), ‘93 and ‘01. All Verts, all sticks, all pop up headlights. Never thought I’d go beyond the C5 because of the headlights. Then I test drove a ‘13 427, and fell in love with all 505 horses. The other plus in upgrading is I get to start modding all over again
Power is an aphrodisiac—— GO FOR IT!
