I did a quick search for side marker ideas, but came up with zero.
I just installed blackout tails, and love the look. I would like to do the same with the front/rear side markers. For those who have done it, what did you use? I have found a vendor who does acrylic covers, $60 for the 4, which I thought was a bit high.

a couple of options, especially if you thought the covers for 60.00 were too high......................
1.) you can remove yours and use spray paint type tinting and re-install them................. costs 25.00 or so
2.) replace them with tinted covers like these in the link below....... a lot more expensive, but you can always go back to originals if desired, and possibly sell them............... I had them on a black coupe I had and they looked great................ sold the car, swapped the lights prior and sold them, as they wouldn't quite look as good on my current Torch Red....
PS: sold them for the same price I paid.......... may need to check all the forum vendors if these catch your interest......
I saw that Rustoleum has a spray-able clear tint that peels off like Plasti-dip. It may be worth the try to see if you like it as a non-permanent thing first.
It's like $6 a can. Should be able to do all 4 of them with one can.
I went through 3 sets of acrylics from various vendors and the rears fit perfect but the fronts were horrible. returned them all bit the cost and had them tinted at a body shop by adding small amounts of black to clear top coat. the results were perfect and if I sell the car they can be replaced if so desired new light assemblies are not all that costly.

I may have to try that one also. I like the idea of peeling it off. I used to use VHT - nightshade and had good success.
I have the acrylic covers - not the best quality but you can’t tell when on. You can also buy tinted markers on eBay $99 rears and $49 fronts. You can pull me out and put tinted film over them. I’ve used nite shades on other cars and never liked the way it turned out.

Thanks for the info. How do you "pull them out"? Are they a pop in/out item? Does the lens just come out, or the light & harness, too?

I bought a roll of vinyl tint on ebay for less than $15 bucks. Had enough to do several sets of side markers, fogs, and reverse lights.
The side markers are easy enough to remove and tint that I wouldn't consider spending much money on a pre-cut solution.
They just have two clips in the back that hold them to the body. For the rear its easiest to remove the outer brake lights to feel for the clips. The front are easily accessible if you pull the top few clips or the fender liner.

Psst, I used Plasti-Dip , couldn't see spending a kings ransom for 4 little lenses, ridiculous I tried Nightshades and ruined a few practice lenses, no luck at all.
I'm happy with them now and the light shines thru fine.

Believe it or not, I have never used Plasti-dip. Where do I get the same product you used, NSF? If it is matte black, and the light shines through, that is what I want.

Jim; you can buy it just about anywhere, Lowes, WalMart, Home Depot etc.
Some of the exotic colors are harder to find but your basic colors are easy.
Be sure to watch some videos on the process on YouTube, the DYC outfit has every one that you need to learn how it works

I know Walmart stocks some of the colors and my local Walmart did have the Rustolum version also. They did have the specific lens tint one also.

Tried that before on another car and it ruined the lenses , I like the idea of the peel-able one so if it is messed up you can start over. Also, if it gets chipped (ripped ) then peel and redo it.

NotSo...I must checked WM online. The have lots of PD colors in spray, but I did not see a tint. Did you use a color, and it still shined through? If so, I guess I could use matte black, right?

I used the original PD in black with no glossifier, so yes its matte finish. It will seem tacky when you wipe your car after it dries but it goes away with time, I wax right over it and it starts to get a low gloss look.
Just watch the videos on doing emblems, and yes you do it on the car, mask them off about at least 1" around the light like it says, then it peels away and breaks right on the edge of the emblem, or lenses as the case may be, I know it makes one nervous but that's the way it works. I've done it quite a bit, and yes on the Corevtte

I went with Oracles but vinyl wrapped them in orange and red to look stock when off! I figure a smoked vinyl will give you the tinted look you want! And not break the bank!
