LS3 engine ID
I purchased an LS3 engine with a 6L80 transmission for a project I am working on. I was expecting to see the engine numbers 12584724 with 12600821 heads. What I have is 12621766 and 823 heads. Did GM make an LS3 motor using the LS9 block with the 823 heads? Just wanting to understand what I have. Thank you

The Corvette Black Book shows the same number you were expecting for the 2008 block, but the 2009 block has the number you got. The 823 head is designated as a pu (possible usage) head for 2009.
