Bottom line is no you don’t need a corvette and you should keep what you got and enjoy it

Have you ever driven a C5 or newer Corvette?

... you need something for the soul, test drive one of the final years Grand Sport 3LT and you’ll understand why folks like me have owned so many Vettes thru our life. The C6 is the best generation, hands down. At 70 years of age nothing lifts my spirits like an occasional drive followed by a stop at my favorite tavern for a drink... I come home 20 years younger!

the C6 is the not best generation or Chevy wouldn’t have came out with the c7 and finally gave it the interior it deserves. It is a great looking, great performing car though and very affordable.

Newer isn't always better. I bought a C6 over a C7. They don't appeal to me, they just don' look as good, not do entrust gm to make DI reliable.

If the tail lights looked like this on a C7 could deal with it. Otherwise, fuggeddaboutit!

Sure I did. But C6 is as old as I'm accepting to buy. I also don't want to spend all my savings for a new C7. I don't want monthly payments too.

lol the tail lights aren’t hideous on the C7 and after 4 years I think they have the DI down. No more or less issues than any other generation of corvette.

40 years in between us, but interests are still the same.

C7 is nice but I feel like spending 50k vs 20-25 is not something I'm willing to do. I mean I can save for another year and get a C7, but next year I might as well decide to save another 50k and get a Ferrari. I think C6 is a good start for the money.

If you are serious, let me make a suggestion. Go on cars.com, autotrader.com, Cargurus.com and make a free account for yourself. Select years, the price range and distance from your home. They will email or text you each time a new listing comes out. You might get 2 or 3 per day sometimes. A really good deal will sell fast and this gives you the best chance of getting a chance to look at it first.

Probably even less, since if he's asking 17.5, he knows he will have to come down a little. I know this is controversial, but there were a lot of improvements to the 2008 model, and it will only be a couple of thousand more to get one. I'm not saying the others are bad, but if all other things are equal, I would try to get an 08 or newer. I personally would not buy a Vette that has been modified with speed parts like headers, supercharger and stuff. I would rather buy a one adult owner, well maintained 06 model with 85000 miles, than a 2010 with 35000 miles but had 5 owners and not very many records of service. There's a lot of things to consider. The good thing is that these cars hold value pretty well after the initial depreciation. So if you need to ditch it, you shouldn't lose too much money.

All of these are valid points. Thanks. I have 160k miles on my car and it runs like a champ due to I only use OEM parts and full synthetic oil changes every 3-4k miles. As soon as something breaks down I fix it, this way it's easy to keep up.

Cars are like teeth, you either care of them daily for reasonable $$$, or neglect them and then throw out a lump summ (and you are lucky if you have it at all)

<br />You will be able to find someone selling a Vette, for a good price, who has the same good way of caring for a car that you do. It might take a little time. I looked for 2 years before I got my 08 3lt, Z51, 3 years ago. Searching is half the fun. Happy motoring!

Well, you can always save your money and spend it in your next life! Unless you have a guarantee that you're going to live to be a ripe old age.................buy a Vette!! Life has no guarantees and I don't intend to die with any regrets.
You want a Vette? Get it!

I just need somebody to convince me. Or maybe a good deal in sale section of this forum will do too.
If you need convincing, then a Vette is not for you. Good luck whichever road you choose.

The infinity is the smart, cute girl from freshman biology whom you take home to meet your parents.

The corvette is the stripper you do Coke with and have "relations" with while standing up in the shower.
