Default NEED HELP buy used C6 have pics

Hi, I am looking at a blue C6 Corvette that was from Georgia, then South Carolina and I found it online in North Carolina.
I want to know if anyone recognizes the car and has any information on it. I am having CarMax ship it to Illinois right now.

You will get a better response by posting in the C6 general section and/or the regional section of this forum. Good luck.

Pull the VIN and take it to your local GM dealer and ask them to run a complete VIS report. This will give you any known GM service history, missing recall work, completed recall work, if the car carries any warranty or has a warranty block on it.
Pull a carfax and an autocheck.
I encourage you to consider the CarMax extended warranty - they are better than most any other warranty.
Wish I could be of more assistance - good luck with the search

Thank you for the information. I am not familiar with the VIS report. I have something from CarMax stating no open recalls and no active warranty. Warranty block is something I have not heard of before and worth a check.

Information I have states car failed emissions twice about 1.5 years ago, and a minor accident. One concern is in the CarMax pics the "service active handling" is on in the pics. I am wondering what has been done to the car for emissions and active handling issue.

A little late to be asking if it is being shipped unless you have some sort of inspection agreement upon arrival.

Good luck. Too late now but a GMVIS report should have helped you. I’m hoping the accident was minor as I never trust a salesman.

Only being shipped right now. I have secured financing and will look at car upon arrival. There is a 5 day money back after signing paperwork and 30 day warranty.

I would honestly avoid this car. There are so many others out there that are unmolested. Just the graphic under the hood is enough to make me walk away. The "Service Active Handling" would make me run away though.

If you have the money back warranty then bring it to a Corvette specialist ASAP to have the entire car checked out. Does the accident show up on Carfax ? Does all of the paint match even in the sun or under fluorescent lighting ? Again, good luck.

A Warranty Block is basically a car that has been modified or altered enough by the owner that GM has revoked his warranty because of it.

You stated that the car is now out of the factory warranty period anyway, so a warranty block would not be of any importance to you.

You never stated what year model this base C6 is, or how many miles it has on it .... well, it's got to be old enough to be past it's factory warranty period.

+1. I was pleasantly shocked that their Maxcare warranty is a Platinum-tier (exclusionary vs named item), and the cost for a 5-yr was a third less than the quote I got from the company I usually use, for a 3-yr (the longest they would write). I called around to some shops I trust and nobody had a bad word to say about Maxcare in terms of dealing with them for claims. I would definitely document any non-factory mechanical mods at the time of purchase though, because if you can't prove you didn't do them they could void the warranty.

Just remember that shipping cost is nonrefundable and no haggle on price from carmax.

Get it inspected when it arrives. Dealer can check for tune if you plan on getting a warranty but it will cost about $200 for both. Active handling issue would keep me from considering it as it is like a minefield hoping it is something cheap.
