Default LT3 oil pan leaking

I have a 2010 GS with 12500 miles. The oil pan has developed a leak... Is this a common problem?

Many complained about a leak. Some leaks don’t even drip on the floor. Some have very light seepage which I call sweat. If you have large drops on the floor you should bring it to a corvette specialist and let him check the oil sending switch. I had a few drops on the floor and it look like it was coming from the drain plug. I bought a new drain plug and replaced it and problem solved so I lucked out. I have an 07.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

This used to be reported here every few months back in the hay day of C6, not so much these days for whatever reason(s). Point being it wasn't unusual to hear of this issue.

In any event some members had success getting car into the air on a lift, then gently snugging-up all pan bolts within reach.
*There're 1, 2 or more that're blocked, can't get a socket to/on 'em.
So IF leak's from area w/ obscured bolts, may need to have a pro do this job.

FWIW & IIRC installing a new pan gasket required engine to be raised for accessing all bolts so pan could be dropped & gasket replaced.
Last I heard that's how it was done, anyway.

IMO do the cheapest fix first by trying to snug-up bolts you can reach, let us know if it worked or not. G/L

Clean and inspect first. Replace the drain plug, tighten the pan bolts to torque spec and as a last resort replace the pan gasket. Replacing the gasket is not for the faint of heart. Do a search here on the forum on how do it. Pan gasket is a last resort. A dealer will charge several hundred dollars to do it. DIY about $75.

First determine - is it really a leak (drops on the floor), reduced oil level. OR is it just sweat (seepage). As others have recommended, change the drain plug and tighten the bolts you can. But start with cleaning the pan and all the area underneath first, to determine how long it takes to get back that way, and you'll have an idea about how bad the leak really is.

Keep up posted...
