Default Low-beam replacement gone wrong...

Replacing stock low beam headlight bulbs with 6k bulbs. Easy-peasy right?

Wrong.

Dropped 1 of the little torx screws never to be found (or reachable) again. Broke the head of the other one off somehow

I dumped some gas in my motorcycle and ran up to Lowes to find a replacement bolt. Got something close, seemed like different threads but appeared to be going smoothly until the head snapped off as well

SO now with no way to mount the headlight bulb I'm pretty screwed for driving at night.

Whats the best way to get these things out?? 4mm seems tiny to extract? Are there kits that small? I found a small drill bit but my battery needed to charge and the wheel would need to come off to actually drill through straight.

Anybody have recommendations? New headlight/projector housing? I'm tempted to take it to a shop as this kind of thing ruins your day LOL

I would drill it out and tap a new screw

The stock screw is nothing more than cheap pot metal non-ferrous and can be drilled out pretty easy. The replacement you used may be more difficult but can be did with due care.

Hopefully this works and any other way will require the lens to come off. At that point replacing the projector housing is much easier than than trying to get the projector apart.

I hate threads with no ending so here is the fix. Thanks for the suggestions, was nervous to drill into the housing at first. Went through a few drill bits and had to tap new holes (1 off center lol) but it works. Don't be like me, have patience with working with tiny bolts and things will work out nicely.

6k all around now minus yellow fogs and stock high beams...not sure I will replace them in case I actually need to see on backroads.
