Default Thinking about getting back into a Corvette

Sold my modded C6Z last year. Life is boring without a RWD V8 car that is fast in a straight line. I am currently selling my modded Mazdaspeed6 and also have my daily '17 Jetta up for sale. I am keeping my highly modified Miata.

I'm a little all over the place. I could go fun DD & toy in one or I could toy that gets parked all winter again. Speed6 is getting sold no matter what as I just never drive it & want the money.

My number one concern for my next toy is it has to be fast in a straight line (Hoping for at least 11s). I also don't want to buy anything & then drop a ton of time & money modding it. Has to be factory fast or already modded by previous owner. Whatever I buy will be used. Not buying new. I'm also wanting an auto trans. Really would like one of the fancy A8/10 cars.

Short list of half the year toy so far is:
-Classic muscle car (Chevelle preferred)
-Charger Hellcat
-2014-15 F-Type V8 S
-C7 Corvette (Non-Z06/GS)
-Wide body C6 Vette (Non-Z06. I say no Z this time b/c hardtop FTL.)
-2010-14 GT500

Short list for daily driver & toy in one is:
-Charger Hellcat
-Boosted S550 Mustang GT
-Boosted or H/C/I 6th Gen Camaro SS
-Gen2 CTS-V
-ATS-V
-2015 Charger 392 SRT
-Chevy SS

As of now, I'm thinking I should use the MS6 money for a driver quality muscle car & then either just continue to daily the Jetta or replace that with a fun daily.

I could also sell MS6 and Jetta & use MS6 money for a cheap, but semi-fun newer daily like a Focus ST, 2012 Genesis Sedan R-Spec, 2010+ Taurus SHO & then pick up a toy above.

You'll notice I did not mention any Euro cars. That's because I want to keep whatever I buy long term and I really don't want to be bothered with costly maintenance nightmares/bills or a car that is a PITA to work on. However, the M4 is really growing on me. Maybe an F10 M5 too.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Input?

I vote C7. For your other daily keep the Jetta. Even though as a mechanic I hate VW, but you've already taken the price hit on buying it. And really your prolly many years away from serious issues.

It's a cheap lease & even oil changes are free while in the lease term. I don't have to touch it which I love.

Short list of half the year toy so far is:
-Classic muscle car (Chevelle preferred) : Great idea, would be even better if it had an LS swap or a Cayote Swap
-Charger Hellcat Z: Comfortable but heavy and you can feel it
-2014-15 F-Type V8 S : Would it be reliable?
-C7 Corvette (Non-Z06/GS) : Nice but you will want a wide body with nice fat tires
-Wide body C6 Vette (Non-Z06. I say no Z this time b/c hardtop FTL.) : I have that now, love it especially being able to take the top off
-2010-14 GT500 : Buddy traded in his C6 Grand Sport for a 2014 GT500. Couldn't wait to get out of it and back into a Corvette. Said it felt so heavy that it just wasnt fun anymore or the same feeling.

Short list for daily driver & toy in one is:
-Charger Hellcat : Again, heavy but comfy
-Boosted S550 Mustang GT : Needs a lot of mods to be a fun car. But a 2018 version with a blower runs 10s all day in Automatic mode.
-Boosted or H/C/I 6th Gen Camaro SS : Interior =teh suck
-Gen2 CTS-V : Cool car, I like these
-ATS-V : Expensive and a little small
-2015 Charger 392 SRT : You will want the Hellcat everytime you see one
-Chevy SS : Are you ok with it looking like a rental car?

If I did buy one, and spent good money, I'd only buy one already LS swapped. If buying the $15k driver, it'll still be carbed & eventually I'll LS swap it.

Personal experience?

-C7 Corvette (Non-Z06/GS) : Nice but you will want a wide body with nice fat tires
You're not wrong, but I can't afford a GS or Z. Rear WB swap is what, around $3k? That's doable one day.

I'd likely feel the same.

I did say already boosted. Would never buy a stocker.

You're not wrong.

-Chevy SS : Are you ok with it looking like a rental car?
No

I'd say a wide body C6 GS would be your best bet from that list. Very easy to make some serious power with the LS3 by slapping on a S/C. I think a C6 GS looks far better than a narrow body C7 too. Best of luck with your decision!

No personal experience with Jaguar just hearsay from friends. I like how they look but those who previously owned Jaguar warned me of its issues. (Mostly electrical, but I do not think it was this model they owned).

Good luck in your search, very interested to see what you end up with and what you think of it.
