My 2011 base Corvette Convertible in Velocity Yellow was taken out while I was stopped at a red light. Fours weeks after the accident it is still in the shop waiting on some parts. They tell me no frame damage so that's a good thing. With only 20,000 miles, this car is a honey and I had even taken home a couple of local car show trophies.
But alas, I was having Corvette withdrawal as the insurance company rented a Toyota Camry for me. Yup, gets me where I need to go but boring, boring, boring.
Yesterday I closed a deal on a 2013 427 Convertible equipped better than my well equipped 2011 and it has only 4300 miles. It has to be shipped from the mid west to my home in South Florida so I expect to have it by the end of next week. Looking forward to the delivery.
I would enjoy keeping the other car but my wife would squawk more than the parrot that I am baby sitting for a neighbor that is away for a few days.
How many of you have two Corvettes? What are your pro's and con's? And finally, anyone interested in buying my 2011?

I have a C4 and a C6GS. They drove totally different, so that' a pro. If I want a raw sports car, my C4 is the go to. If I want a gorgeous and fast touring car, with tons of performance cred, the c6 gets the call.
Downsides? I ave 3 cars, since 2 of my cars don't have backseats or ability to tow etc. Insurance isn't cheap. People think I'm nuts, and its hard to refer to them uniquely (both are black, and only vette people know c4 or c6).
I think I would have a hard time having 2 low mileage C6s. A clean c6 and a beater c5 maybe, a beater c4 definitely, maybe a newer car and a classic c3 or c2. It's all a question of funds then.
You have my sympathies. It took 6.5 weeks to get my 2012 Coupe back from the repair shop after a lady hit me in the side while I was trying to avoid an existing wreck in front of me. They said they were having a hard time getting a new driver's door from GM.

Yesterday I closed a deal on a 2013 Grand Sport 427 Convertible equipped better than my well equipped 2011 and it has only 4300 miles. It has to be shipped from the mid west to my home in South Florida so I expect to have it by the end of next week. Looking forward to the delivery.

I think you meant 2013 427 convertible......which has the Z06 engine
Sorry to hear about the 2011. Congrats on the 2013 427 Convertible. Its not Grand Sport though. Get the valves checked or heads replaced. Be easy on the go pedal until you get used to it. You will love it.
I have 2 vettes, a C5 and a GS C6. The reason for having 2 is I don't have the room for 3. In the stable also is a 2010 SS and a 370z. Insurance is a tidy sum but I really don't see the reason to have only 1 vette when there are so many wonderful choices to choose from.

I'm also a 2 Corvette owner with a C4 and C6.. No downside to owning 2 Corvette's at the same time , unless money is a problem.. My C6 is fairly stock and is my cruiser ,but my C4 is my "Race Car"and after working on it for 10 years it's now faster then my C6.. If I had more garage space I would own a few more Corvette's , believe me.......WW
Not 2 vette's but 2 Camaro's, my wife drives one and the other we use for nice weekends and car shows. I could see you driving your '11 and using the 427 for special trips, car shows, that kind of thing.
I couldn't choose between a Z51 LS3, or the new 5.0 that ford has been using in the Mustang GT's. I bought a 2009 C6 1LT base Z51... because its a corvette!
And then I just got a 2018 GT fully loaded...because it has all the "comforts" I miss from my daily driver.
Owned an '80 w/ a somewhat rare 4-spd for 35 years, loved it. Car was with me through a good chunk of my life.
But when I got my C5 & later 2 C6s A#1 problem I had was preferring to drive the newer Corvettes which meant '80 sat unused most of the time. Any & every vehicle needs to be loved, enjoyed and most of all driven.
Sold '80 to an acquaintance, his 1st exposure to Corvettes of any kind.
Guy loves it, enjoys & drives it so as much as the '80 meant to me?
It's now in very good hands bringing another person the same joy it brought me. YMMV
