Default Discovered Limp Mode

First time I've experienced it, but I got a message saying "Reduced Engine Power" accompanied by a Check Engine Light. My biddy calls it a Checking account light.

Monitored all the vitals, didn't see anything abnormal.

Will take it to the shop in the morning, hopefully for a small issue. Has anyone had experience with this?

Possible issues to check for are the accelerator pedal and throttle body.

Maybe it's what he calls his woman? But then it should be capitalized.

Yep, that's the least he could do.

Very common for a lot of vette owners (Including Myself).Disconnect your neg battery cable for a few minutes then restart, if engine light comes back on then take it to a parts store and see if it will show any codes.

2006 owner's manual, page 3-60:

REDUCED ENGINE POWER: You will hear multiple
chimes when this message is displayed. To
acknowledge that you have read the message and to
remove it from the display, press the RESET button.
The message will reappear every five minutes until this
condition changes.

If the Driver Information Center (DIC) displays the
REDUCED ENGINE POWER message and the CHECK
ENGINE light comes on, a noticeable reduction in the
vehicle’s performance may occur. If the REDUCED
ENGINE POWER message is displayed but there is no
reduction in performance, proceed to your destination.
The performance may be reduced the next time
the vehicle is driven.

The vehicle may be driven at a reduced speed while the
REDUCED ENGINE POWER message is displayed,
but acceleration and speed may be reduced. Anytime
the CHECK ENGINE light stays on, the vehicle
should be taken to your GM dealer as soon as possible
for diagnosis and repair.

IIRC, the check engine light will go out after 5 restarts, assuming the condition that caused the light to come on no longer exists.

Mine did the same thing Friday about 2 hours from home, fortunately there was an Advance autoparts a few miles away and they checked the code. It was in fact the P2135 tps code, I made it home fine and had my local guy check it as well the next morning. The check engine light went out on it's own and I have driven the car over the weekend, but it's going to happen again right? The YT videos look pretty easy for changing it, however they were not LS3 motors, has anyone changed theirs, is it as easy?

Is there an excuse for not proofreading before posting?

This was the first time anyone on the forum has posted before correcting a typo?
It was obvious to me what he meant when I read it.

Looks like this will be another thread that goes on and on with few replies that address the OP's question.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a "limp mode" comment yet.

UPDATE:: After some research on this forum, I focused on the Vitesse Throttle Controller. I tried recalibrating it 2-3 times, but didn't fix the problem. I disconnected it, and the 'reduced Engine Power' message went away, but still had a Check Engine light. Reset it with an OBD II scanner, and haven't had any more issues.

No. I actually thought it was an old-style slur about a wife/gf.

Although, it's nice to know I can be funny without trying.

That's the plan.

Mr.owc6 always makes an amazing spread. And when I say spread, I mean spread throughout the day. Usually a half-dozen courses or more. He won't let lift a finger.

It's awesome and strange all at the same time.
