Default 360 Miles to Lunch! How Far In Your Vette Have You Driven Just to Eat?

Saturday the Wife and I decided it was a good day to go out to lunch. One of our favorite spots in Austin closed several years ago, but the same eatery has a location in Dallas, Tx. So, we decided to drive to Dallas. We topped off the gas tank in the Corvette and hit the road. We drove 360.6 miles, round trip, for lunch. For me, any reason to take a road trip in the Vette is a good one.
The question I have is, how far have you driven in your Vette, just for breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

Dallas, Tx

360.6 mlles for lunch.

I hope the food was good, just the way you remembered it!

I drove 7 miles once to find a Taco Bell, since the Taco Bell closest to me was closed for renovation.

Way way to far to drive just to eat fast-food Mexican food !

254 miles for breakfast. Fantastic! We only saw ONE yellow C5 the entire drive. I couldn’t believe there weren’t more Vettes out and about. ( at least not where we were)

There are a lot more in north Dallas than there are south and mid. I only see a few where I live south of the city, but when I go up north I always see a bunch.

Nice road trip for lunch. I'm assuming you wanted to go to the Dallas area, isn't there a spaghetti warehouse in San Antonio?

Yes, there’s one is SA, we both just prefer Dallas over San Antonio. And, the drive headed north is so much easier/better these days. Seems like traffic is bumper to bumper between Austin and San Antonio no matter what time you drive IH-35. Going north to Dallas, traffic cruises at 80-90mph!

I think 360 miles is a tad too far for lunch
Having said that we do drive 86 miles round trip to our favorite Chinese spot called the Panda Gardens in Needles about 5-6 @month
Best Chinese food around, in fact the only one that's worth talking about. A dive for sure but that's where you find the best food sometimes

It's not uncommon to do 150+ round trip with some of the Corvette clubs on a Breakfast cruise Sunday mornings!

At the end of the month you’ve got my 360 miles beat Bobby, but I understand. It is a long haul in one day for lunch! But I sure enjoy the drive, and we really enjoy each other’s company, so it’s all good. And yes, the hole-in-the-wall dives usually are the best!

I think I’d enjoy that for sure. We might have to find a club in our area.

10 miles to the Jiffy Burger restaurant in the next town. Drove that about 5 or 6 times in the Vette. Lady that runs it owns a C6 that I used to have.

On the bike, we and a few friends will commonly ride 200+ miles one way for lunch and back. It's a great way to spend the day. First lesson doing this with the vette, the Gas bill is WAAAAYYYYYYY higher than the Harleys

Averaged 20 MPG + in the vette, VERY stiff headwind coming back. Watched cars and trucks fight it the entire time. The aero of our C6 just let us slice and dice the wind like a Ginsu Knife. I was extremely impressed. The car tracked just like a slot car the entire time.

The Harley gets 45 MPG and we would have gotten brutalized by the wind coming back.

With us, it's really not the destination, it's the journey that we enjoy.

Next week looks to be BBQ in KC for lunch!

482 mile round trip from my house in Chino, CA to Vegas and back. We have done this a few times when staying for the weekend is not in the plans. Nice drive across the desert to one of the great restaurant's in town followed by a nice evening drive back thru the desert to get home. Last time there we found some big rocks in the Nevada desert
