Back in the '90's I owned two C4's, not at the same time. After a serious OJI spinal cord injury, I had to give up my C4. Some 13 years later I recovered enough to take another stab at Corvettes. Two years ago I bought a 2011 C 6 Convertible which was very comfortable for me to fit in and drive. I am 6'2" tall and tip the scale at 240 lbs. I have no problem getting into or out of the car and love to drive it all the time.
It didn't take long before my brother in law starting working on my wife (his sister) that it was not the right car for me. It would cause me back aches, etc. He said he owned a Corvette years ago and it caused him back problems. Like it was any of his business to be in my business I finally had to tell to keep quiet. Body styles and cabin seating has changed and his Vette was not the same as mine. And don't you know that almost everyone of my neighbors asked me how I get in and out and drive with my bad back. Why would anyone care?
I had the opportunity to drive a C7 a couple of months ago and I found that cabin to be smaller than the C6 so it was indeed uncomfortable for me. The guy that lent me his car asked me to use it for the weekend and park it in my garage until he could come pick it up. I discovered the car was physically smaller when I parked it in my garage next to my C6. After the experience I knew there would not be a C7 in my future.
Along came an opportunity one day and I purchased another C6, a 60th anniversary collectors edition. It is even roomer inside than my 2011 and both cars front to back appear to be the same size. Go figure.
Anyway, when those naysayers have a need to tell me how uncomfortable the car looks, I invite them for a ride. Always the same answer, no thanks.
Glad to hear that you've recovered to the point where you're back in a Vette. Got to admit I'm a bit confused on the size issue. I personally measured a C7, and it was 2" wider than the '11 GS, wing tip to wing tip. The extra width would have made it way too scary to put in my garage, it's that tight. Just as well, because IMHO, the c6 is a better looking car, and I find the cabin and seats as comfortable as they need to be.

Just remembered after rereading the post that the C7 I drove was a Stingray. Wonder if there is a difference between that and the other C7s, I was at a dealership recently with two Stingrays on the floor and both were very tight like the one my buddy has.

AFAIK, all C7s are Stingrays. What model year was it? See my previous post, the 2014s are narrower on the outside than the C6s, but other model years of C7s are wider on the outside than C6s.
Sat in my buddy's C7 and a few at the stealership. I'm 6'3 240 and could not get comfortable. My head was almost touching the top and I felt like I was sitting on top of the car. Just not my thing. Played with all the seat settings to get it just right and could not get it the way I wanted. Love the C6!
