Default C6 z06 wierd noise
Hi guys!

I have recently bought a c6 z06 06. Under full throttle in first gear and sometimes in second gear the car makes a strange sound. Its hard to explain the sound but its not a whining sound, more like a rattle from the drivetrain. I also have a hard time putting the gear in reverse. Are these common faults, does anyone have any idea what it can be? I have tried to search for other similar threads but without results..

Bank what you are hearing is wheel hop rattle, since full throttle in first and second with street tires and a LS7 on a Z06, should end up with the tires spinning.

it sounds like wheel hop but it does not feel like it at all since i have full grip and the car is accelerating very quick

Doesnt sound like a differential or transmission fault right?

It's possible that you have a short throw shifter that's rattling.

Could be any one of a number of things. Where do you live? Find someone close to go and listen with you...a Corvette club member maybe, or trusted mechanic. Or post a video or link to YouTube. Good luck.

Possible torque tube bushings. Need to get the car up in the air, put in gear and listen to where the noise is coming from.

Is it a spinning RATTLE sound that sounds like its coming from the dashboard? If it is it is coming from the torque tube. I think its some sort of rubbing in there. It was explained by someone more knowledgable than me .

it comes from the rear end, as if the tires are loosing grip but they dont. I dont feel any vibration either
